About IPUA
Indian Polyurethane Association ( IPUA ) was established in 1992.
It represents Polyurethane (PU) Industry as a whole. The members are from raw material segment, processing segment, machinery suppliers etc. It represents Mattress & Furniture foam manufacturers, Seating system manufacturers for Automotive segment ( cars, buses, trucks, two-wheelers), Foot-wear manufacturers, Rigid Polyurethane Foam manufacturers for Insulation in Building & Construction, Refrigeration, Composite manufacturers, Coating, Adhesive, Sealant & Elastomer manufacturers etc. There are about 400 odd members in the Association with a registered office in New Delhi and Technical Centre at Pune. The key flagship event of the PU industry is the PU Tech EXPO cum Technical Conference held once in three years. It is one of the best Expo’s held in Asia with international representation. The Association also conducts seminars regionally.
About the Industry
The industry would be having an approximate turnover of about US$ 1.5 billion, with an average growth rate of about 10%. The key raw materials and additives are mainly imported with very limited local manufacturing capability. Some of the finished products are exported to Middle-East countries while the imports are from Europe and other parts of Asia. The industry employs approximately 150000 people in direct & indirect employment.
